A pediatric-focused evidence synthesis on light-based supportive care for chemotherapy-related oral mucositis.

What to keep in mind

This review addresses a specific complication of chemotherapy. Differences in study methods, patient groups and interventions limit generalization. Evidence for oral mucositis cannot be transferred to autism, other neurodevelopmental conditions or transcranial PBM safety.

Research information is not a prescription. Long-term pediatric transcranial PBM safety is not established by these studies; adult evidence is not a substitute for pediatric evidence. Use only under qualified clinical guidance, with device-specific safety review.
